Job Description
Position Summary The Logistics Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of dispatch, load planning, and driver coordination for a 60-truck OTR dry van fleet. This hands-on role helps drive service execution, fleet utilization, and compliance support, and plays a key part in hitting company revenue, utilization, and on-time performance targets while supporting driver satisfaction and retention. Key Responsibilities Plan and dispatch loads to maximize truck utilization, profitability, and driver home time while meeting customer service commitments Track daily fleet performance against KPIs, including revenue per working truck, gross revenue per mile, deadhead percentage, and on-time performance Support driver Hours of Service (HOS), FMCSA, and DOT compliance, including ELD administration and safety program execution Coordinates with the Fleet Manager for — breakdowns, weather events, detention, and appointment changes — resolving or escalating as needed Maintain operational data and reporting in the TMS (LoadStop) and ELD (Motive) platforms, including daily/weekly scorecards and lane and cost data supporting pricing and bid activity Required Qualifications 3+ years of trucking, dispatch, or logistics operations experience (OTR dry van environment preferred) Working knowledge of HOS, FMCSA, and DOT regulations and ELD requirements Hands-on experience with TMS platforms (LoadStop, McLeod, or similar) and ELD systems (Motive, Samsara, or similar) Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a 50+ truck OTR dry van fleet operation Background in customer bid/RFP pricing and lane analysis Familiarity with driver recruiting, onboarding, and retention programs Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health benefits package 401k with company match after 1 year of service Paid time off Work Environment Fast-paced, high-accountability operations environment.
