Job Summary The Production Planner at Dauch (formerly GKN) in Kersey is responsible for optimizing production schedules and material flow to meet customer demand and production targets efficiently. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective execution of manufacturing plans. Job Responsibilities- Develop and maintain production schedules for various product lines, considering capacity, material availability, and customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor production progress against plans, identifying and resolving any deviations or bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and procurement departments to align production plans with demand forecasts, new product introductions, and material supply.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to minimize excess and avoid stockouts.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to generate production orders, track material movements, and update production statuses.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, lead time reduction, and inventory optimization.
- Prepare and analyze production reports, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate production schedules and potential issues clearly and proactively to relevant stakeholders.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
