About the role The Supply Chain Co-Ordinator is responsible for the end-to-end planning, purchasing, inventory management, and material availability activities for the USA manufacturing operation. Reporting directly to the Vice President, the role combines strategic planning, supplier coordination, inventory optimisation, and day-to-day operational execution to ensure uninterrupted supply to production and customers while balancing inventory, cost, and service objectives. What you'll be doing: Demand Planning & Inventory Management Collaborate closely with the Sales Team and customers to develop accurate and meaningful demand forecasts to support production and customer requirements. Analyse historical demand, forecast trends, and business strategy to establish and maintain optimal inventory and safety stock levels. Monitor material availability and proactively manage supply risks to minimise disruption to production and customer deliveries. Support inventory optimisation initiatives, including the reduction of excess, slow-moving, and obsolete stock. Purchasing & Supplier Co-Ordination Manage purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability aligned with business requirements. Generate and manage purchase orders for direct materials, indirect materials, and services as required. Monitor supplier performance including delivery reliability, lead times, capacity, and responsiveness. Expedite, reschedule, or cancel orders in response to changes in demand and production requirements. Ensure procurement activities are aligned with supplier capabilities, availability, and best value considerations. Maintain accurate supplier pricing and procurement master data within ERP and planning systems. Logistics & Supply Continuity Coordinate with logistics providers to manage inbound shipments and support efficient and cost-effective material flow. Monitor shipment status and proactively address supply or logistics issues that may impact production or customer service. Develop risk mitigation approaches within planning and purchasing activities to manage supplier and supply chain variability. Continuous Improvement Monitor and report on key supply chain performance indicators, including inventory levels, supplier performance, forecast accuracy, and material availability. Promote and maintain best practice standards across planning, purchasing and inventory management processes. Perform other job-related duties as required.
About you:
Proven experience in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of demand planning, inventory control, procurement, and supplier management principles. Experience using ERP/MRP systems and supply chain planning tools. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make effective operational decisions. Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capability. Experience managing supplier performance, delivery scheduling, and material availability. Strong understanding of inventory optimisation, stock control, and supply continuity principles. Proactive and hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day operational execution. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and cultures. Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
