Senior Center Transportation Assistant (PT) Town of Brookline - 3.7 Brookline, MA Job Details Part-time $18.22 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications Organizational skills Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description The Brookline Council on Aging seeks a part-time Transportation Assistant to provide staff support to the Brookline Council on Aging/ Senior Center transportation programs (TRIPPS), specifically helping to manage the Senior Center's growing medical transportation program. This position assists residents with their medical transportation needs and involves responding to phone calls, emails, and scheduling rides for individuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Monitoring the Senior Center Medical Transportation line and email address for new medical transportation requests. Inputting new requests into an online spreadsheet. Managing cancellations and changes. Submitting new requests and cancellations to the transportation vendor. Providing new users with information on the Medical Transportation Program. Conducting reminder calls to Medical Transportation Participants. Provide other transportation options as appropriate (e.g. Lyft Concierge) Provide transportation alternatives to Brookline older adults
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must possess: Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and a sensitivity to the wide spectrum of the needs of older adults. Ability to work independently with supervision and an ability to manage work time with regard to workload and projects. Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the COA team and other organizational partners. Strong organizational skills and an ability to maintain computerized records and reports. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google Forms and Sheets and basic text messaging. Additional training will be provided for site specific computer systems and utilizing transportation options. Ability to respond quickly to problems or emergency situations. This is a part-time non-benefitted position of up to 18 hours spread over three to five days per week (Monday - Friday) with the Town of Brookline. This position is grant funded at the Town's living wage of $18.22 /hourly. Open until filled. Please apply with resume and cover letter.
