Jobs › Wilmington, MA › Master Planner Robert Half Master Planner Wilmington, MA Apply Description We are looking for an experienced Master Planner to support production planning activities for a Long-term Contract position in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This role will shape and manage a comprehensive production schedule that supports customer requirements, balances operational capacity, and promotes reliable delivery performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams to keep plans aligned with business priorities and changing demand.
Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain, and distribute an integrated master production schedule covering multiple product lines while keeping output aligned with forecasted demand and inventory objectives.
  • Evaluate labor, material, and manufacturing capacity to identify bottlenecks, highlight risks, and develop practical recovery plans that protect delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate with procurement, operations, sales support, and engineering teams to address planning conflicts, manage product configuration needs, and support product launches.
  • Monitor schedule performance and adjust planning assumptions based on changes in customer demand, supply availability, and production priorities.
  • Use ERP platforms, scheduling applications, and reporting tools to analyze planning data, improve schedule accuracy, and strengthen decision-making.
  • Drive process improvements that increase scheduling efficiency, enhance resource utilization, and support consistent execution across the planning cycle.
  • Track key planning metrics and communicate schedule updates, constraints, and recommended actions to stakeholders in a timely manner. Requirements
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in production planning, master scheduling, or a closely related manufacturing planning role.
  • Strong background in building and managing master production schedules within complex operational environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle, along with advanced Excel skills and experience using planning or reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of capacity planning, resource requirements, and material flow within manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering.
  • Experience supporting procurement-related activities, including purchase order processes, buying workflows, or contract-driven supply planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements that strengthen planning performance and on-time delivery.
