Job Description
The Team We are seeking a Senior Vendor Management Specialist to join American Tower's Supply Chain team. The team strategically sources quality materials and services at the lowest total cost while enabling effective and efficient purchasing solutions and enhancing supplier partnerships. Day to day you will evaluate multiple vendor types to determine the appropriate requirements needed to successfully partner with vendors. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to focus on continuous improvement of vendor relations and ensure adherence to applicable policies and guidelines. As the subject matter expert for vendor compliance, you will partner cross-functionally to drive best practices, analyze vendor metrics, and drive satisfaction through efficient communication. What You Need to Succeed Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. A minimum of 2 years' experience in vendor relations required; familiarity with vendor management software preferred. Proficient with MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint required. Experience with Smartsheet and Oracle, including Oracle Business Intelligence reporting, preferred. Approximately 5% travel may be required to support the position's responsibilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results. Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment. What You Can Offer Us Closely coordinate with Supply Chain leaders to implement key initiatives that drive American Tower to be a customer of choice for suppliers. Maintain the quality and integrity of the vendor database by reviewing and/or approving requests to add new vendors. Thoroughly review all documentation before submission to database administrators to ensure adherence to established quality and performance measures. Manage inbound work requests and maintain status updates of ongoing requests. Build critical relationships with internal stakeholders who rely on a robust supplier pool for myriad vendor types while providing best in class service to vendors. Understand the complexities of different vendor types and ensure documentation requirements support business needs. Evaluate and propose solutions for enhanced vendor management, onboarding procedures, and contract requirements. Train, and serve as a point of contact for escalations for, internal and external customers. Partner directly with the Safety team to understand vendor risks and ensure documentation meets compliance standards. Partner directly with the Legal team to manage contract executions and ensure documentation meets internal standards. Partner directly with the Information Security team to ensure Third Party Risk Management reviews are executed on applicable vendors. Deliver high-quality results both on recurring functions and related to special, time-sensitive projects when they arise, regardless of volume. Other duties as assigned.
