September 2026 Position Overview We are seeking Asset Disposition Depot Technicians to support the secure receiving, tracking, processing, and disposition of computers and other technology equipment at a central operations facility. This is a hands-on entry-level opportunity that combines technology, inventory management, logistics, and detailed recordkeeping. Technicians will receive equipment, verify and track assets, maintain chain-of-custody records, prepare equipment for secure processing, update electronic records, and prepare completed equipment for shipment or other approved disposition. Recent associate-degree graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Training will be provided on established processes, systems, equipment, and security requirements. Key Responsibilities Receive and process computers, monitors, docking stations, printers, tablets, peripherals, storage media, and other technology equipment. Verify incoming equipment against tickets, manifests, packing lists, serial numbers, asset tags, and expected quantities. Scan, label, inventory, inspect, and stage technology assets according to processing status. Maintain accurate chain-of-custody and asset-tracking records. Organize equipment in designated secure staging and storage areas. Perform approved data-sanitization processing using established tools and procedures after training. Record processing results and maintain required supporting documentation. Update asset activity, status, exceptions, and completion information in an IT service management or ticketing system. Prepare processed equipment for redeployment, return, surplus, recycling, destruction, storage, shipment, or other authorized disposition. Prepare equipment for shipment, including packaging, labeling, tracking, and associated documentation. Reconcile physical inventory with electronic records and report discrepancies. Identify and escalate damaged equipment, missing assets, incorrect identifiers, processing exceptions, or documentation issues. Assist with scheduled inventory counts and reconciliations. Follow established security, confidentiality, asset-handling, workplace-safety, and quality procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure processing environment. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Electronics, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Recent graduates and candidates beginning their IT careers are encouraged to apply. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures. Comfortable working with computers, electronic equipment, barcode scanners, ticketing systems, and basic business software. Ability to accurately enter and maintain asset and inventory information. Dependable and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Previous experience through an internship, school technology lab, warehouse, inventory role, help desk, retail technology environment, or logistics operation is a plus but not required. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to safely handle, move, load, stage, pack, and organize computers and related technology equipment using appropriate procedures and available material-handling equipment. Comfortable working in a combination of technology-processing, warehouse, staging, and office environments. Must follow applicable lifting and workplace-safety procedures. Must be able to complete required background screening and security, confidentiality, safety, and job-specific training. Schedule Full-time, on-site position in the Greater Richmond / Glen Allen area . Scheduled shifts will support an operational coverage window generally between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Shift assignments may vary based on incoming equipment volume, processing workload, shipments, and other operational priorities. Overtime may be available or required based on operational needs.
