Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency, Inc. (NEMCSA) is a private, nonprofit Community Action Agency, whose Mission is to provide quality programs and services to strengthen and enhance the self-sufficiency of individuals, families and communities through the best use of human and financial resources, focusing on those who are experiencing an economic hardship.What You'll Do:
Coordinate and communicate with local transportation providers in regards to: Set up of routes and changes to routes for children dropping and adding throughout the year; Distribute new and updated child information cards for all children; Ensure all bus drivers are trained on regulations and first aid; Set up transition field trips; Schedule Onboard Road Observations with provider and staff and ensure all Bus Driver and Bus Aide observations are completed, conduct as needed; Schedule and implement bus evacuations drills; ensure all are completed in timely manner; Coordinate and communicate with bus aides and program staff in regards to: Schedule and ensure daily bus aides for each bus; Contact substitutes to aide on the bus or assist in the classroom; Set up attendance forms and distribute; collect and review for completeness and accuracy after routes; Communicate with bus aides on concerns; Schedule and observe deboarding plans; Train bus aides annually and new bus aides as needed; Ride as bus aide as needed; Notify program staff of any concerns or changes; Set up interviews and participate in interviews; Communicate with families and/or others in regards to: Coordinate pick-up and drop-off services with families' day care providers that has participating Head Start children, including completion of appropriate documents; Bus route changes; Emergency card updates/changes; Arrangements for and track "special circumstance" changes (bus escorts, etc.); Verify and track when transportation may be provided for child turning 3 years old. Document family and local transportation provider contact; Call for absences, concerns, regulations, etc.; Return parent's phone calls and emails in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism; Complete all necessary documents and distribute in a timely manner; Ensure safety at all times and Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing regulations are followed with provider and bus aides; Report/discuss areas of concern with Area Manager and Head Start staff; Maintain good phone and e-mail communication; Assist other staff as requested; Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate staff as determined by nature of call or request; Greet parents, visitors and others by offering assistance and/or announcing their arrival to appropriate staff; Attend monthly area staff meetings as required; Maintain confidentiality at all times; Participate in continuing education as required.What We'll Love About You:
