Material Flow & Logistics Specialist Caliberr Staffing Sterling Heights, MI Job Details Full-time $19.95 - $24.20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel High school diploma or GED Excel data analysis Full Job Description Role Overview Based in Fraser, Michigan, this one-month temporary position focuses on managing the distribution, storage, and transit of goods within our production and supply chain networks. You will play a vital role in maintaining inventory precision and seamless material movement, which directly supports our cost management, operational efficiency, and ongoing process improvement efforts.
Shift Options A Shift:
Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm (requires mandatory scheduled overtime and weekends)
B Shift:
Monday through Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm (requires mandatory scheduled overtime and weekends)
C Shift:
Sunday through Thursday, 10:00pm to 6:00am (requires mandatory scheduled overtime and weekends) Core Responsibilities Manage the flow of incoming and outgoing materials to help the team meet production deadlines and fulfill customer orders. Keep inventory data current and precise by utilizing ERP and WMS software platforms. Evaluate existing logistics workflows to pinpoint areas for improvement, reduce waste, and lower operational expenses. Work alongside production, purchasing, and transport departments to guarantee that all necessary materials are available when needed. Coordinate and supervise the dispatch of shipments by working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and freight carriers. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly adhering to all shipping regulations and corporate safety protocols. Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure stock reconciliation. Create and update essential logistics reports, documentation, and performance dashboards. Contribute to the success of lean manufacturing projects and other process optimization efforts. Help the department maintain high service levels by quickly addressing shipping errors, material shortages, and other logistical challenges. Monitor key performance indicators such as delivery speed, freight spending, and inventory accuracy to ensure the department meets its throughput goals. Attend planning sessions with various departments to align logistics activities with broader operational objectives. Required Qualifications High School Diploma is mandatory; an Associate degree is considered a plus. Minimum of two years working in supply chain coordination, material planning, or warehouse operations. Solid grasp of material handling and inventory management best practices. Hands-on experience working with MRP, ERP, or other warehouse management software. Skilled in data analysis and the use of Microsoft Excel. Strong ability to communicate effectively, stay organized, and solve complex problems. Capable of balancing competing priorities within a high-speed work setting. Familiarity with continuous improvement strategies, FIFO methods, and lean manufacturing concepts is preferred.
