POSITION PURPOSE

To support and assist the Supply and Inventory Coordinator and Biomedical Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and experience in warehouse shipping and receiving and building maintenance.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to:

PROCESSING SUPERVISOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Receive and ship supplies for laboratory departments and clients. Assist in general building maintenance. Assist in inventory of supplies when necessary. Communicate with laboratory personnel and clients via verbal or written means in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Access necessary instructions for specimen requirements and collection techniques to assist inquiring clients and patients. Maintain a clean and orderly work area according to safety standards and image requirements. Regular and punctual attendance as the assigned work location.

TASKS:

Answer inquiries and take requests from clients and department personnel. Receive and store supplies when delivered and/or deliver to departments. Prepare items to ship or be delivered to clients daily. Assist in taking inventory of supplies. Change light bulbs, assist in snow removal when necessary. Assist Biomedical Engineer with building repairs and projects. Oversee mechanical rooms and troubleshoot minor plumbing and office equipment problems.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Frequent exposure to excessive sensory requirements (seeing, hearing, touching, smelling). Frequent deadlines under pressure. Frequent irregular activity schedules. Frequent exposure mechanical hazards. Occasional client contact. Occasional exposure to pathological hazards. Occasional exposure to sharps (needles) and edges (blades and/or glass). Continuous exposure to instrument noise. Frequent bending, standing, walking, stooping and lifting up to 75 pounds.
