Job Description

Since 1969, Shupper-Brickle Equipment has provided industrial equipment and engineering expertise in overhead material handling systems. We serve both worldwide companies and small businesses with attention to detail and quality products. We represent a broad range of manufacturers, offering hoists, winches, jibs, and gantry cranes, and we build overhead bridge cranes along with other customized lifting equipment. For the key managerial role of Shop Manager & Production Planner, the successful candidate will have experience in people management and scheduling as well as mechanical aptitude. This position offers the opportunity to make a big impact as a critical team member while learning new skills.
Shop Manager Duties:
Oversee in-house repair jobs and personnel assigned to the shop Deal with customers and vendors directly by phone and email Use company systems and software to process customer orders/ PO's to vendors/research requests, including Monday.com, Inspect-All, Striven.com. Contribute to repair quotes by reviewing inspection reports Oversee inbound/outbound shipments using UPS WorldShip Manage inventory area & annual inventory count Assist sales and service teams by pulling parts or ordering parts Facility maintenance of the shop, indoors and outdoors
Production Planner Duties:
Fabrication Scheduling for crane and hoist jobs coming through the shop and the company production schedule for bridge crane fabrication Ensure on-time ordering of job materials by working with engineering and sales Scheduling the time of shop personnel such as fabricators, electricians, shop helpers & machinists Assist with bridge crane design, assembly & testing Interface with sales, service, installations, engineering, customers & vendors as needed
Required Technical Skills/experience:
(10+ years in any combination) Experience managing employees in repairs, fabrication, assembly or service Scheduling or planning experience in an industrial field, preferably for a customized product Mechanical aptitude & experience repairing equipment
Essential Skills :
Strong Interpersonal Skills Time Management & Self-Direction Skills Ready & Able to contribute to all shop tasks Organized, punctual & focused on safety Clean background check, clean drug test, good driving record & valid license Ability to learn company systems and software Must reside within 40 miles of the shop location for 100% on-site work
Benefits/Compensation:
  • Starting Salary:
    $73K
  • $80K Annually
  • 23 days PTO in first full year, increasing with seniority
