Transit Scheduling Coordinator Transit - 3.6 Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time $51,043.20 - $56,264.00 a year 3 hours ago Benefits Paid parental leave Paid holidays Disability insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Parental leave Employee assistance program Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Staff supervision Driver's License Driving Full Job Description Position Summary Supervise, plan and coordinate Transit driver route scheduling and operations within the Operations Division of the Transit Department; maintain records on daily driver routes; analyze and schedule personnel in order to meet transit needs; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, general public and provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Transit Manager. ABQ Ride is undergoing a transformational period as we modernize how we deliver public transportation to the community. The Transit Scheduling Coordinator will play a critical role in this transformation, helping shape the future of the Fixed Route System and supporting the goals of the ABQ Ride Forward Plan. This is more than a scheduling position; it is an opportunity to be at the center of transit operations. The Scheduling Coordinator will connect the moving pieces that keep services running, from workforce and payroll coordination to daily service demands, complex scheduling challenges, and operational priorities. This position will analyze information, solve problems, anticipate challenges, and develop practical scheduling solutions that improve service reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and comfortable navigating operational challenges. Most importantly, they will understand the importance of public transportation and be excited to help build a more efficient, responsive, and customer-focused transit system for Albuquerque. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below) Coordinate the organization, staffing and operational activities for assigned services. Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities; recommend and implement resulting policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; identify resource needs; review with appropriate management staff; implement improvements. Review and adjust driver timesheets on a daily basis to accurately reflect time worked; review leave requests; assign extra board drivers to ensure proper coverage; update and maintain driver schedules on a daily basis. Coordinate City and special events with outside agencies; design alternative detours and routes for area affected; provide extended service during special events. Participate in the development, revision and timing of new and established routes; review for accuracy. Maintain records on daily driver routes; analyze and schedule personnel in order to meet transit needs. Train department personnel on computerized scheduling software system; provide or coordinate training as needed. Provide staff assistance to the Transit Manager/Operations; participate on a variety of committees; prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary. Coordinate transit activities with those of other divisions and outside agencies and organizations. Schedule demand rides for customers using Sun Van. Set pull-out times for drivers for the next days work assignments; adjust driver routes to meet transit customer needs. Assist in locating customer's address. Adjust and maintain templates for all subscription customers; verify customer information has been entered into the system correctly; correct information as needed. Assist, coordinate, create and oversee the driver bids. Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of transit services. Update and maintain driver information in computerized system as needed. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business; and Five (5) years of transit operator or transportation management experience; and To include one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license, or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Office environment; field environment; exposure to smoke, fumes, gases.
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; operating motorized equipment and vehicles.
