Job Description
Overview The Specialized Recruiting Group of Express Employment Professionals in Ithaca is recruiting for a Production Planner for a busy manufacturing company. The Production Planner will create and manage production schedules, coordinate materials and workflow and ensure timely product delivery. They will review and coordinate demand, resources, and inventory, working closely with all departments including sales and operations. The selected candidate will have strong communication skills to handle disruptions and improve processes. Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demands and inventory levels Collaborate with sales, procurement, engineering, and shop floor teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components Monitor production progress daily, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions proactively Communication and Collaboration - Act as liaison, communicating status updates, issues and changes to management, sales and operations teams Process Improvement - Analyze data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve productivity and efficiency Assist with ERP implementation from the production planning side Run reports, analyze data, communicate in meetings, and work as a team with others in department Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, including work orders, batch records, and quality report Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred Proven experience in manufacturing or production planning roles within a fast-paced environment Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment operation Familiarity with safety standards in production settings, including PPE use and GMP compliance Proficiency with ERP systems, scheduling software, and data analysis Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication (written & verbal) skills Professional certifications (like
