⭐⭐⭐ Shipping & Receiving Specialist ⭐⭐⭐
Pay Rate:
$55,000-$75,000/year; Based on experience
Location:
Latham, NY (On-site)
Schedule:
Four-day work week
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of shipping & receiving experience in a manufacturing environment required
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of ERP or inventory management experience required

Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance Our client is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support shipping, receiving, inventory control, and logistics operations within a highly regulated manufacturing environment . The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating domestic and international shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Specialist will include: Prepare domestic and international shipments according to customer specifications and packaging requirements. Coordinate shipments with approved carriers, freight providers, customer portals, and government inspectors as needed. Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, packing lists , and other required shipping documentation. Process shipping transactions and maintain shipping supply inventory using ERP and shipping software systems. Perform inventory transactions , including receiving, transfers, cycle counts, and inventory adjustments. Determine the most efficient and cost-effective transportation methods for shipments. Investigate shipping discrepancies, damaged materials, freight claims, and inventory variances. Maintain compliance with AS9100 , company quality procedures, and applicable export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR . Administer the company's crane and forklift operator certification program , maintaining OSHA-compliant training records and certification schedules. Assist with physical inventories, cycle counts , and continuous improvement initiatives within the shipping and receiving department. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Develop and improve packaging methods to ensure safe product delivery. Qualifications for the role of
Shipping & Receiving Specialist:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of shipping and receiving experience within a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience using ERP systems or inventory management software. Ability to read and interpret packing lists , purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping documentation. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications . Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. Ability to obtain and maintain a required security clearance. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience within defense, aerospace, or military manufacturing is preferred. Familiarity with
AS9100 , ISO 9001 , ITAR
, and export compliance requirements is preferred. Experience administering OSHA forklift and crane certification programs is a plus. Experience using barcode scanners, warehouse management systems, and shipping platforms such as FedEx, UPS, DHL , or similar is preferred.
