Job Description

Under general supervision, Purchaing Clerk performs general clerical work in support of Procurement process. Responsibilities Prepare and solicit bids, requests for proposal (RFP), purchase orders and change orders regardless of dollar value, covering equipment, material and services for single or multiple sites. WIth approval of the Site Manager, execute purchase orders and credit card transactions of up to $5,000, expedite delivery of material, and handle various aspects of simple to complex procurement activities. Interact with various departments, ensuring all necessary materials and services are procured to support site needs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to type and operate various office machines. Working knowledge of computer software. Education, Experience and Certifications High school graduate or equivalent. Two years of related experience in similar job duties. Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $28.70 per hour.
