$20.53 - $29.77 per hour This is a bargaining union position. Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.
Primary Shift:
7:00am-3:30pm
Secondary Shifts:
6:00am-2:30pm, 6:30am-3:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Manager, performs various materials functions that relate to receiving, storage/warehousing, inventory control, issuing, printing, and transporting of material. Operates an automated information management system according to established procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Skills Required:
1. High School diploma or GED preferred. 2. Must be able to receive, inventory, lift, move, and distribute materials in a rapid, accurate, skillful, and safe manner to hospital customers. 3. Must be able to operate equipment provided for the handling, processing, and transportation of material. 4. Must be able to demonstrate basic technical and clerical skills to account for the quantity of material or supplies issued or processed. 5. Must have very good organizational and communication skills. 6. Appropriate New York State driver's license to operate assigned vehicles is required. 7. Three (3) years prior retail/warehouse experience preferred. 8. Must demonstrate competence in two (2) Distribution skills within one year of hire. 9. Must be able to reach qualifications of demonstrating four (4) Distribution skills to move to Materials Specialist II within 36 months of accepting Materials Specialists I position. As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided. Apply
