Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team and drive excellence in our supply chain operations. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and warehouse distribution. Your expertise will ensure seamless coordination between suppliers, warehouses, transportation providers, and internal teams to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where proactive problem-solving and process improvement are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Support customer service activities including sales order entry, shipment tracking, delivery confirmations, and resolution of shipping discrepancies or damages.
- Coordinate outbound finished goods shipments with customers, freight carriers, and the S&R team; prepare export documentation when applicable (COO, commercial invoice, ISF for international shipments).
- Analyze customer's sales demand and identify and alert any issues with an appropriate amount of lead time.
- Ensure Compliance with Customer Systems and Portals.
- Track railcars inventory to maintain accuracy through inventory counts, inventory reconciliation, and recommend adjustments to meet customer demand.
- Serve as primary contact for freight carriers; negotiate rates, resolve claims, and maintain carrier scorecards; ensure compliance with customer routing guides.
- Process supplier invoices for matching against POs and receipts; coordinate with A/P on discrepancies and payment approvals.
- Support internal and external audits by retrieving procurement records, supplier evaluations, and shipping documentation upon request.
- Track and create Month End freight accruals.
- Create reports based on the requirements set forth from corporate.
- Work with different types of transportation carriers to schedule, track, or investigate shipments. (Rail, Truck, Intermodal, Containers, etc.)
- Interact with and support the Sales Team as needed.
- Negotiate favorable supply contracts with key raw material suppliers. Work with under-performing suppliers to improve or locate alternate supplier.
- Execute Strategies for Supply Chain Departmental KPIs including but not limited to Cost Savings, Payment Terms, and Supplier Inventory on Consignment Programs in accordance with Business Unit Targets.
- Additional responsibilities and familiarity with the following are preferred:
- Process purchase requisitions and convert to purchase orders for MRO supplies, indirect materials, packaging, chemicals, and services per delegation of authority.
- Source and evaluate vendors for new materials and services; obtain competitive quotations.
- Maintain supplier master data in ERP including contact information, payment terms, lead times, and approval status; update records as conditions change.
- Monitor open purchase orders and expedite deliveries to prevent stock-outs; communicate delays proactively to internal customers.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
