Job Description

As a Logistics Coordinator, you'll keep our supply chain moving smoothly by coordinating transportation, optimizing deliveries, and ensuring every shipment arrives on time and in compliance with regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipment Coordination & Execution Receive and process shipment requests from internal and external customers. Determine appropriate shipping methods (LTL, FTL, air, ocean, etc.) based on cargo type, delivery timeline, and cost. Schedule pick-ups and deliveries, verifying all shipment and carrier details. Carrier Relations & Rate Negotiation Source, qualify, and assign carriers based on load requirements, service quality, and availability. Negotiate competitive freight rates to maintain profit margins and service standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with reliable carrier partners. Monitor carrier performance and resolve any service-related issues. Customer Service & Communication Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the shipment lifecycle. Provide shipment updates and manage communications related to delays, changes, or issues. Respond to inquiries and service requests with a customer-focused approach. Tracking & Issue Resolution Monitor shipments using tracking systems and direct communication with carriers. Address delays, damages, or routing issues in a timely and professional manner. Communicate real-time updates and resolutions to stakeholders. Documentation & Compliance Prepare and review shipping documentation, including: Bills of Lading (BOL) Commercial invoices Customs declarations (international shipments) Proof of Delivery (POD) Ensure adherence to DOT regulations, customs requirements, and internal policies. Maintain accurate records for compliance and audit readiness. Logistics Support Schedule and coordinate transportation for inter-company product transfers. Identify and assist in implementing cost-effective shipping solutions. Support logistics projects and complete other duties as assigned by leadership. Reporting & Administration Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including delivery timelines and carrier service levels. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment logs and documentation in the TMS or ERP system. Assist with billing and invoicing processes to ensure accuracy and timely submission. EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES
: Summary of education, work experience and proficiencies listed here. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. 1-3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or freight brokerage. Technical Skills Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and shipment tracking software. Familiarity with DOT regulations and international shipping practices, if applicable. Core Competencies Strong communication and negotiation skills. Problem-solving and critical thinking. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Experience with LTL, FTL, air, ocean, or rail freight operations. Existing book of business or established carrier network. Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages is a plus.
