Job Purpose With a regional viewpoint, this position is empowered to identify and utilize the necessary resources to design an optimal transportation network that supports Honda SQCDME targets. This includes, but not limited to, truckload and in network route design, identification and implementation of improvement themes, achievement of cost targets through waste reduction and innovation, and planning for future change points. Participates in broad scope projects and handles complex transportation situations. Key Accountabilities Utilize technical expertise to actively lead the 3PL Engineering staff. Strategically evaluate and challenge the 3PL team to identify improvement opportunities and ensure accountability related to network routing efficiency, cross dock strategies, equipment utilization, and technology applications. Effectively engage the production forecast/demand and approve future routing changepoints to optimize transportation efficiency. Review and approve ideal route design and regular analysis of route utilization. Lead regular reviews with the 3PL to identify potential design gaps and implement countermeasures for improvement to resolve complex problems. Support company vision through Business Plan, KPI, and other Business Unit initiatives in areas of knowledge and technical expertise. Develop associates to ensure compliance and expand knowledge of transportation to SCM operations, Packaging and Delivery team. Identify and implement complex and broad scope process improvement projects and themes that will help reduce the overall HDMA Transportation spend and meet established cost target. At the launch of new models, collaborate internally (across SCM departments) and externally (3PL and carriers and cross docks) to understand and establish requirements related to single supplier truck load routes. Develop opportunities and implement solutions that will mutually benefit all Honda SCM groups. Support carrier strategy and regular carrier meetings with the goal of developing partnerships
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent related experience
