Job Description
Miller Transfer is a legal and specialized flatbed carrier with over 55 years of experience transporting machinery and over-dimensional freight throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. When the load is complex and the stakes are high
- our customers call us. We are growing our Heavy Haul team and looking for our next Permit Coordinator to support drivers and terminals across the country. This is a critical role at the heart of our operations
- the person who makes sure every oversized load moves legally, safely, and on time.
What You Will Do Plan routes for oversize and overweight vehicles and loads Order, receive, and verify accuracy of all permits Communicate directly with drivers on permit status, routes, and delivery changes Provide continual updates to operations and maintenance teams on equipment needs, size and weight limits, and permit revisions Schedule pilot cars, state police escorts, and Department of Transportation escorts Process required documentation for Canadian border crossings Prepare weekly and monthly operations reports and cost tracking Attend daily and weekly team meetings Be available to take driver calls after hours when needed What You Bring Previous permitting experience with a transportation company or permit service provider
