Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Schedule Coordinator, where your organizational skills and customer service expertise will keep our dental practice running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will manage appointment scheduling, coordinate patient flow, and serve as the first point of contact for patients and staff alike. Your energetic approach will ensure a positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and administrative accuracy. Duties Schedule patient appointments accurately using dental practice management software, Dentrix, ensuring optimal provider utilization Manage patient intake processes, including collecting and updating medical and dental histories, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality policies Coordinate with clinical staff to confirm appointment times, prepare treatment plans, and facilitate smooth patient flow throughout the day Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent patient service while addressing inquiries about scheduling, billing, and treatment procedures Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) for billing purposes Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with health information management standards Qualifications Proven experience in dental office administration with familiarity in dental terminology and clinic workflows Strong computer skills with proficiency in Dentrix. Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, billing, and claims processing; familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines is advantageous Ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail in medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) and CPT coding practices Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette. Strong organizational skills with experience managing multi-line phone systems, filing systems, and office management tasks Demonstrate understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies; ability to handle sensitive information discreetly Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred.
