Job Description

The demand planner is responsible for coordinating and supporting the purchase of inventory, materials, and supplies based on demand for sales orders and production orders. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment when making purchasing decisions based on price and availability. Reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities:
Develop, generate, and input purchase orders utilizing the company's business system software Review purchase orders for accuracy Review auto-demand and manual-demand reports to ensure PO's for all direct and special requirements are processed timely and accurately Determine optimal PO type to meet customer required date Oversee post PO processes (ie. Acknowledgements, expediting, disputed vouchers) from start to finish Selecting the best value supplier for items with no pre-selected supplier Effectively utilize Special Pricing Agreements (SPA's) and supplier purchase programs like "GOTO" Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule Maintain a consistent interaction with the inside sales team in order to meet customer expectations Perform other related duties as assigned by
Management Requirements:
High school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) required. Some secondary education or equivalent work experience is a plus Must possess working knowledge of purchasing policies, processed and procedures Must possess knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures Must be able to interpret instructions from multiple co-workers Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Outlook The ideal candidate must have precise detail orientation, and focus Strong communication, organization, and time management skills Familiarity with Airline's distributed parts preferred
