In this vital role, you will oversee the coordination and execution of delivery operations, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of freight and goods. Your proactive approach will facilitate seamless communication between drivers, clients, and internal departments, supporting our commitment to exceptional customer service and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced supply chain environment, utilizing your expertise in transportation planning, logistics management systems, and communication skills to drive success. Responsibilities Coordinate daily delivery schedules, dispatching drivers and vehicles using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management. Manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and shipping & receiving protocols. Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to provide clear instructions and updates. Monitor GPS tracking data to optimize routes, improve delivery times, and reduce transportation costs while maintaining safety standards. Handle customer inquiries through phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing status updates and resolving issues promptly. Maintain accurate data entry related to freight movements, delivery logs, and shipment documentation for analysis and reporting purposes. Collaborate with logistics partners such as 3PL providers to streamline supply chain operations, including freight management and transportation planning. Requirements Proven experience in road transportation operations, logistics, or supply chain management with familiarity in transportation planning tools. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, analysis, and communication purposes. Knowledge of vehicle dispatching software, transportation management systems like Oracle Transportation Management, and vehicle tracking technologies such as GPS. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for internal coordination and external customer service interactions via phone calls or written correspondence. Understanding of DOT regulations governing freight transport and safety standards within the transportation industry. Ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Attention to detail for accurate documentation related to shipping & receiving processes, freight tracking, and data analysis.
