Job Description
Description Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Transportation Coordinator (Logistics Specialist) to support transportation operations within a dynamic logistics organization. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring shipments are planned efficiently and delivered on time while maintaining a strong focus on service, cost, and quality. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable managing a high volume of transportation transactions. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily shipments using a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Assign freight to carriers and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams to resolve transportation issues.
- Support order management and transportation compliance activities.
- Follow routing and truckload optimization standards.
- Analyze shipment and transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate shipment documentation and records.
- Assist with transportation projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide support to other Transportation Coordinators as needed. Day-to-Day
- Heavy use of Excel and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Work within Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or similar platforms.
- Manage approximately 10-50 shipments per day, depending on facility volume.
- Support 200-350 daily orders in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, customer service, or operations coordination preferred.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.
