Material Planner (Hybrid)
Location:
Westbury, NY (Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 remote)
Salary:
$70,000-$74,000

Full-Time Our client, a leading manufacturer operating in a highly regulated environment, is seeking a Material Planner to support packaging and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability of packaging materials while managing inventory, supplier performance, and material transitions that support ongoing manufacturing activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an early- to mid-career supply chain professional looking to grow within a collaborative planning organization. Responsibilities Plan and manage packaging materials required to support manufacturing operations. Monitor inventory levels and execute replenishment activities to prevent production disruptions. Manage supplier schedules, purchase orders, lead times, and minimum order quantities. Coordinate packaging material revisions, engineering changes, and product transitions. Support the phase-in of new packaging components and phase-out of obsolete materials. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Packaging teams to ensure material readiness. Maintain planning data within ERP and planning systems while supporting inventory accuracy. Analyze material shortages, identify risks, and proactively communicate potential supply issues. Participate in operational planning meetings and contribute to continuous process improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, procurement, or inventory management within manufacturing. Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar. Understanding of MRP, Bills of Materials (BOMs), inventory planning, and supplier management. Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze inventory and planning data. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting packaging operations Packaging component planning (cartons, labels, inserts, films, foils, corrugate, etc.) Packaging change control or engineering change management Kinaxis experience Power BI or Tableau
APICS CPIM
certification (or pursuing certification) Experience within pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, food, beverage, CPG, or other regulated manufacturing environments This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing and supply chain leaders while supporting a high-volume packaging operation in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
