Job Description
The College Transition Coordinator serves as the liaison between the high schools and career and technology centers across the college's service areas of Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties. Engages with prospective students, parents, school administrators, and guidance counselors to provide enrollment services for high school students and college enrollment to SCC for graduating seniors. Prepares group presentations to educate parents and students regarding the College's enrollment process and provides enrollment and program selection assistance, academic and career advising, entrance testing, mentoring and follow up through the enrollment process. For Cherokee and Union counties, provides enrollment assistance to prospective graduating seniors and adult education students to include: Career field and program exploration, application process, collecting required documents, conducting applicable testing, and serves as liaison between students and various departments at SCC. For Cherokee and Union counties, serves as the secondary coordinator for all dual enrollment and Early College activities to include but not limited to student recruitment, placement testing, documentation creation and dissemination, application completion, student eligibility determination, curriculum selection and student advising. Provides transitional support to all dual enrollment students upon graduation. For Cherokee and Union counties, prepares and conducts classroom and school presentations, coordinates, schedules, and leads all tours for the Cherokee County campus for all groups visiting campus, schedules individual appointments with prospective students regarding traditional enrollment, apprenticeships, work-based learning, financial aid, scholarships, and other topics that support college transition. For Cherokee and Union counties, serves as a liaison between high schools/career centers and SCC regarding the development of applicable curriculum pathways for students to take TAP assessments for seamless transfer post program completion. Coordinates, schedules, and assists with the administration of all TAP assessments in assigned service area. Maintains master schedules of all assessments and is responsible for documentation. For Cherokee and Union counties, coordinates with guidance departments, admissions counselors, campus directors, and deans to ensure appropriate course offerings are available for students to register. Serves on the Cherokee Campus Advisory Board. Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs. Master's degree in a related field with 3 years' experience in student services programs. Experience with Colleague, Self Service, Salesforce or other Higher Education Database systems. May need to occasionally attend meetings/conferences/workshops out of town. Evening and weekend hours to address special events will occasionally be required.
