Assistant Manager Planning
Job SummaryThe Assistant Manager, Material Planning is responsible for integrating customer demand, overseeing production scheduling, and managing material supply planning to ensure on-time delivery of quality products. This role drives efficient scheduling strategies, optimizes material and logistics processes, and aligns operations with plant and regional objectives to achieve cost, delivery, and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities Manage customer demand to ensure accurate, on-time delivery in the correct quantities
Develop and oversee production scheduling, material planning, and production control processes
Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules across all assets
Monitor production schedule attainment and delivery performance
Ensure timely and accurate vendor material releases aligned with inventory targets
Optimize press and assembly capacity to improve plant productivity
Maintain and enhance SAP (ERP/MRP) system utilization
Support new product launches and engineering changes from a planning perspective
Ensure compliance with customer portal requirements and logistics standards
Respond to customer inquiries and manage delivery expectations
Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, SMED) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in supply chain, material planning, scheduling, or procurement
2+ years leading material planning activities and teams in manufacturing
Automotive industry experience required
Strong experience with SAP/MRP systems
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and automotive standards (AIAG, VDA, MMOG/LE) Key Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Collaborative and results-driven mindset
