Job Description

Overview Works closely with manufacturing, service, and purchasing to create a timely, cost-effective international supply chain for delivery of materials to customer locations. Duties Responsible for handling the technical details of international transportation—multiple modes, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations, executing distribution strategies, and building relationships with logistics intermediaries. Sourcing of transportation and establishing carrier volume allocations. Serves as expert in dealing with problems inherent in moving freight internationally. Manages the performance of international carriers and logistics intermediaries. Ensures compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import/export activity. Performs planning and replenishment process for production and service materials. Evaluates trade-offs between transportation costs, inventory costs, and service levels. Executes logistics strategies and processes for entering new markets on a global basis. Support management cost savings initiatives to reduce overall freight cost. Assists with departmental projects and performs other tasks as assigned. Assist in Inventory Control. Experience BS degree in Business Management with concentration in Logistics and Transportation or Supply Chain Management desired. 4-6 Years of Experience in International Logistics, Import / Export. Previous experience utilizing Oracle, SAP, or other MRP software. Must have knowledge of international commerce—international banking, sales and payment terms, customs regulations, and international supply chain processes. Must have proven ability to handle multiple high-level and detailed tasks. Must be able to show understanding of logistics and transportation optimization processes for managing efficient operations. Knowledge of project modeling, supply chain processes, and business forecasting methodologies. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, specifically in coordination with transportation intermediaries and managing personnel. Strong computer skills including MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Visio. Ability to perform complex spreadsheet analysis for planning.
