Logistic Coordinator A logistics coordinator is responsible for managing a company's supply chain by overseeing the storage and transportation of inventory, ensuring timely deliveries to customers by coordinating with transportation providers, reviewing orders for accuracy, and identifying potential issues to optimize efficiency throughout the logistics process; they often communicate with clients, suppliers, and warehouse staff to maintain smooth operations and address any shipping concerns. Key responsibilities of a logistics coordinator may include: Order processing: Reviewing purchase orders, verifying order details, and coordinating with warehouse staff to pick and pack items.
Shipment coordination:
Arranging transportation with carriers, scheduling pick-ups, and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Customer service:
Responding to customer inquiries regarding order status, resolving shipping issues, and providing delivery updates.
Cost management:
Negotiating freight rates with carriers, monitoring shipping costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Documentation:
Preparing shipping documents, customs paperwork, and invoices.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to shipping regulations and safety standards.
Data analysis:
Tracking key logistics metrics (delivery times, on-time delivery rates) to identify areas for improvement.
