Job Description

Job Summary This position is trained and assigned to work in several capacities within the National Hardware operation including assembly of parts, including hanger assembly; assembly machine operation; picking, staging and loading LTL orders; catch rail; assist welding; and prepare, stage and load international containers for shipment. Works as needed in any or all of these roles. Variation of job duties will depend on business requirements and labor needs each day. Operates the 50 Ton Hydraulic Press and 6 Ton Multi-Press in these processes. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • (9%) Performs several repetitive, short cycle bench operations following prescribed instructions.
  • (9%) Fulfills orders by picking and packing product as requested by customer request for shipping.
  • (9%) Picks orders for LTL, Hot Shot, Flatbed, UPS, International Containers.
  • (9%) Sets-up work area for production, stocking materials and supplies as needed.
  • (8%) Operate computer system to process packages and pallets and labels UPS/Printers-Zebra & Easy Label
  • (8%) Separates product by order, when finished put product on pallets, wrap, band and ship.
  • (8%) Effectively communicates all daily information regarding orders to Shipping Coordinator and Planner Supervisor. Also communicates effectively with team members on what work must be completed.
  • (8%) Performs manual duties involved in shipping, receiving, packing, and moving various types of goods or products.
  • (8%) Operates hand or fork trucks and cantilever rack truck to move material
  • (8%) Assists Welders in lifting, staging and painting products.
  • (8%) Assists Roll Form Operators in staging, lifting and banding of finish goods.
  • (8%) Clean, mop and wipe areas and machines daily as well as any other work requested by manufacturing Coordinator or NH Supervisor. Education and Experience Profile
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Distribution center related experience preferred. Required Skills
  • Broad knowledge of methods and procedures used in the various distribution center functions.
Some of these functions include:
order filling, shipping, packing, replenishing, loading, general housekeeping, unloading loose loads, pallet picks, and customer special handling.
  • Must be able to use review screens in
SAP, MFG
Pro/ QAD and other software programs as needed.
  • Certification to operate lift equipment.
  • Should be detail oriented and work well with numbers (mathematics).

$16.50 - $20.00 per hour
