Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Gate Clerk is responsible for overseeing the entry and exit of vehicles and personnel at the facility's gate, ensuring compliance with company policies and security protocols. This role involves verifying documentation, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control access to the facility for trucks, trailers, and other vehicles. Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles for proper documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery receipts, and shipping orders. Log vehicle information, including license plate numbers, trailer numbers, and arrival/departure times. Ensure all required documents are accurate and compliant with company and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed records of all transactions and update digital systems as necessary. Liaise with drivers, warehouse personnel, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth operations. Respond to inquiries from drivers and visitors regarding facility policies and procedures. Notify supervisors or security personnel of any discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts. Conduct visual inspections of vehicles and cargo to prevent theft or unauthorized transportation. Enforce facility safety protocols and ensure all visitors adhere to company guidelines. Report suspicious activities or security breaches to management. Operate gate systems, including electronic entry and exit systems. Generate reports on daily gate activities and vehicle movements. Assist in resolving discrepancies or issues related to shipping and receiving.

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar role is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
