Steelworks is a private company that is a fabricator of quality steel Power Delivery Structures for the electric utility industry.JOB SUMMARY
The Demand Planning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the flow of project-related materials, resources, and information within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that project demands are met on time and in alignment with production schedules. The Demand Planning Coordinator collaborates with project managers, inventory teams, procurement and production to forecast material needs.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma / GED. Associates Degree preferred.
- Operational experience a plus, especially in inventory accounting and project management
- Prior production and inventory experience is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Bilingual - English/Spanish, a plus
- Knowledge of ERP Systems required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and project lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using project management software and ERP systems
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain logistics is a plus.
- Familiarity with supply chain management, inventory control, and project lifecycle is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Nesting Software Operation:
Operate and manage nesting software to create cutting programs. Optimize cutting layouts to maximize material utilization and reduce waste. Modify cutting programs as needed to accommodate production changes or material availability.Demand Planning & Forecasting:
Work closely with project managers, procurement and operations teams to accurately forecast project material requirements based on project scope and timelines. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely availability of materials for production.Project Scheduling Support:
Align material and resource availability with project timelines and production schedules.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Serve as a liaison between project management, operations, procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure effective communication and coordination. Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding material availability, project status, and any supply chain concerns.Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for improvement in material flow, demand planning, and coordination processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.Issue Resolution:
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues that arise during the execution of projects.- Ability to perform other tasks and/or projects as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with cross-functional teams.
- Regular collaboration with project management, inventory, procurement, and production teams.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing office environment with occasional visits to the shop floor.
- Occasional lifting and handling of materials, as needed.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Employees are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor. In addition, employees are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job-related skills and abilities. Employees must attend mandatory education programs. During the new hire orientation all new hires will be provided with New Hire Orientation (NEO) training which includes human resources information and safety training.
