EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

: High School Diploma or Equivalent Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY

: Assist in monitoring an accurate and current stock of vehicle parts for all North East Independent School District (NEISD) vehicles consisting of buses, trucks, vans and automobiles. Assist in coordinating all purchases for materials and supplies and purchases vehicle parts for Transportation Department. Generate, track and close vehicle work orders.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Answers phone, files, and works with customers to best assist them. 2. Assists in maintaining inventory of bus parts. 3. Assists in administering parts inventory on computerized vehicle maintenance program. 4. Assists in purchasing duties for the Transportation Department. 5. Coordinates with vendors and vehicle maintenance personnel to obtain needed parts. 6. Assists in the accountability of vehicle parts and department supplies including completion of an inventory at least once each year. 7. Assists in entering purchase orders on District computer system and coordinates with District Procurement and E-Commerce Department. 8. Audits receiving copies from vendors to ensure accuracy. 9. Research and purchases parts for all NEISD vehicles. 10. Assists in monthly billing for the departments. 11. Assists with generating monthly and annual reports. 12. Occasionally required to fill in as Bus Assistant as needed 13. Maintains confidentiality of information. 14. Reports to work on time every day. 15. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public Valid Texas Driver's license with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed the risk of electrical shock.
