JOB PURPOSE
This position is responsible for analyzing project documentation and shop drawings to accurately develop material requirements for fabrication orders. The role requires strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and effective use of Excel and ERP systems to support efficient manufacturing operations.Position Prerequisites:
Ability to understand blueprints and interpret fabrication shop drawings. Proven ability in mathematics, as well as oral and written communications and computer skills. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, missing information, or potential material issues before release to production. Ability to apply logical reasoning and manufacturing knowledge to ensure accurate material planning.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review project information provided in project job folder. Review shop drawings and material requirements shown on the drawings. Proficiency in understanding and reading drawings is necessary. Analyze material requirements for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with manufacturing routings. Identify and resolve material conflicts, missing information, or drawing inconsistencies prior to release to Operations. Provide material requirements for each project released for fabrication to Operations for production. Order buy out items needed for the fabrication order. Assemble drawing packages for the fabrication shop and the shipping department. Create a drawing log and paperwork for the fabrication shop to pick up drawings. Record the acknowledged ship for the project in the job folder. Maintains project documents for future reference. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work with others in a cooperative fashion.OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Interfaces with appropriate departments as needed. Displays detail orientation without compromising effective time management skills. Maintains competency with applicable technology. Works well with minimum supervision.QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma required. Technical degree or certificate preferred. Strong computer skills required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including formulas, sorting, and filtering. Experience with ERP systems required, NetSuite preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing routings and fabrication workflows preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB
