Job Description
Department Worker Sub Type Per Diem Work Shift Pay Range $18.59 - $24.16 Job Description The Behavioral Health Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Health Medical Transport's dispatch center and the team leader. Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Prior law enforcement or military experience preferred. Certification & Licensure Required to satisfy and maintain the requirements for a valid driver's license. A DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certification, as well as submit a periodic drug screening, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies, is required. Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) is required within 60 days of hire. Trauma Informed Care Training is required within 60 days of hire. Suicide and Crisis Intervention Training is required within 60 days of hire. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) is required within 60 days of hire. EVOC will be provided during orientation. AHA BLS CPR and First Aid are required within the 60 days of hire. 24 hours Unarmed Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) training provided by Virginia DCJS is required within 6 months of hire. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age. Experience in the use of handicap aids and wheelchair lift equipment as well as the care and handling of the aged and/or handicapped client is preferred. Must maintain a driving record that is acceptable with the company's insurance carrier.
