WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING
Summary:
The Supply & Production Planner is responsible for managing inventory planning, supply execution, and production scheduling across the manufacturing and distribution network to meet customer demand and service objectives. This role balances supply and demand while ensuring efficient production workflows, accurate schedules, and optimal inventory levels. The position requires strong cross-functional communication and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks affecting service, cost, and efficiency. Duties to include (but not limited to): Develop and execute supply plans based on demand forecasts and customer orders Manage inventory strategies to meet service-level targets while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory Plan and schedule production workflows based on manufacturing sequences, lead times, and capacity constraints Monitor and manage open supply orders to ensure on-time fulfillment Develop procurement plans based on forecasts and production requirements Coordinate with suppliers, production, logistics, and distribution centers on schedules and material availability Develop and maintain capacity plans to support varying levels of demand Provide accurate schedule commitments and delivery dates to Sales and customers Analyze supply chain and production performance metrics and report insights Manage procurement execution and supplier performance to improve lead times and reduce costs Identify supply chain and production risks and develop contingency plans Support SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) processes Maintain item setup, master data accuracy, and planning parameters in ERP/MRP systems Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, scheduling, and supply chain operations Ensure alignment between production schedules and inventory strategies across the network
A Supply & Production Planner Demonstrates:
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data sets Strong understanding of supply chain, purchasing, inventory, and production planning processes Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment High level of organization, attention to detail, and responsiveness Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across operations, sales, and logistics Motivation to exceed expectations and drive continuous improvement Education /
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field and/or 3+ years of relevant experience in supply planning, production scheduling, or operations. Experience with ERP/MRP systems required Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred Working Demands /
Physical Requirements:
After-hours availability when required to support operations Ability to respond to production disruptions and schedule changes in real time Occasional physical support on the production floor when needed Ability to manage high workload variability during peak periods
