Position Summary:
AJC Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Logistics Operations Intern to join our team in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This internship provides hands-on exposure to international logistics, ocean freight operations, and customer account management within our Eagle Logistics Systems division. The intern will support day-to-day operations while learning core logistics processes, including booking coordination, inventory management, and customer communication. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gain real-world supply chain experience, and contribute to live customer accounts. Scope of Responsibility Support customer service efforts by assisting with communication and relationship management for assigned accounts Help manage customer inquiries and ensure timely follow-up Assist in creating and maintaining shipment files (purchase orders, bookings, container specifications, sail dates, etc.) Coordinate booking requests with steamship lines under supervision Support onsite inventory tracking, appointment scheduling, and reporting Assist in preparing and distributing daily inventory and shipment updates to customers Help monitor and report discrepancies (damage, shortages, overages) Assist in preparing loading plans based on customer requirements and operational guidelines Support documentation processes, including bills of lading and shipment manifests Track sailing schedules and assist with system updates and customer notifications Participate in service issue investigations and support resolution efforts Assist with claims processing and documentation Learning & Development Opportunities Exposure to international shipping, ocean freight, and supply chain operations Hands-on experience with logistics systems and documentation processes Direct interaction with customers, carriers, and internal teams Mentorship from experienced logistics and operations professionals Opportunity to develop problem-solving and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field Prior internship or coursework in logistics, transportation, or operations is a plus, but not required Language Requirements Candidates are required to read, write, and speak English & Spanish fluently.
