We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Assistant Planner reporting to Sr Director, Planning based in our Tampa, Florida office.
The Opportunity:
The Assistant Planner supports the planning and inventory management function by maintaining inventory reporting, executing inventory transactions, monitoring inventory performance, and assisting with forecasting and allocation activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring inventory accuracy and supporting the successful execution of merchandise sales across IRONMAN events and eCommerce channels. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to develop a career in merchandise planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations. They thrive working with data, have strong Excel skills, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems and drive operational execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Reporting Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports. Monitor inventory levels across warehouses, trailers, and event inventory locations. Track inventory receipts, transfers, adjustments, and replenishment activities. Research and resolve inventory discrepancies. Support inventory reconciliation and cycle count processes. Planning Support Assist planners with forecasting, inventory analysis, and assortment planning. Prepare sales, inventory, and performance reports for weekly and monthly business reviews. Analyze historical sales and inventory trends to support future planning decisions. Maintain planning tools, trackers, and reporting dashboards. Support inventory allocation and deployment plans for events and eCommerce. Event Inventory Execution Assist in preparing inventory plans for races and events. Support inventory transfers to and from race locations. Monitor inventory availability leading up to events. Assist with post-event inventory reporting and analysis. Partner with Event Operations and Merchandise teams to ensure accurate inventory movement. Data Management & Systems Maintain accurate product, inventory, and planning data within company systems. Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely. Support the integrity of planning, inventory, and reporting systems. Assist with system testing, process improvements, and implementation of projects. Create and update standard operating procedures as needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, Event Operations, Logistics, and Warehouse teams. Respond to inventory and reporting requests from business partners. Support initiatives to improve inventory visibility and operational efficiency. Assist with special projects and seasonal business initiatives. Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Mathematics, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in planning, allocation, inventory management, supply chain, merchandising, or analytical roles. Strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. Experience working with ERP, inventory, or planning systems preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
