Aston Carter is hiring for a Supply Chain Analyst! Job Description The Supply Chain Analyst manages a portfolio of 15-20 suppliers and oversees inventory for one or more manufacturing plants, ensuring the timely flow of materials to support production. This role focuses on both tactical execution and strategic supply chain initiatives, including purchase order management, root cause analysis of shortages, and continuous process improvement across the entire supply chain. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams, leads supply chain projects, and drives process enhancements to optimize logistics costs, materials flow, and supplier performance. Responsibilities Manage 15-20 suppliers, including those supplying multiple plants, and oversee inventory levels for all relevant locations. Monitor purchase orders (POs), including those received, delayed, and not received, to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment. Review and analyze open order reports from suppliers each Monday to track PO shipment status and address discrepancies. Communicate with suppliers primarily via email, and when necessary by phone, to obtain status updates and resolve PO issues. Conduct 5Y or similar root cause investigations when orders require expedited fees, miss shipment dates, or result in shortages, and implement permanent corrective actions with management support. Focus on tactical supply chain projects while contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance overall supply chain performance. Represent the supply chain function on cross-functional business unit teams and act as a key liaison between supply chain and other departments. Propose, implement, and support multi-site or high-level business tools and process enhancements to drive continuous process improvement. Analyze and document supply chain processes using established standards and methodologies to ensure consistency and efficiency. Analyze the end-to-end supply chain, including logistics costs, materials, and sourcing strategies, to identify optimization opportunities. Essential Skills Direct manufacturing experience in a buying or Supply Chain Analyst role for at least 3 years. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, including SAP and
SAP S/4HANA.
Understanding and practical use of Material Master data within ERP systems. Proven ability to run 5Y or 8D investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of permanent corrective actions for shortages. Demonstrated experience managing material shortages and leading recovery efforts with suppliers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree, with a Supply Chain degree highly preferred. Automotive industry experience. Experience working in a company with a similar scale of operations, such as managing approximately 22 million in inventory and 6,500-7,000 parts for a plant under North American material control. Familiarity with environments handling 350-450 parts per build and 100-150 builds per day. Experience managing 15-20 suppliers, including those supplying multiple plants, and coordinating inventory for all supported sites. Experience with continuous process improvement and implementation of high-level business tools. Ability to facilitate small to medium-sized teams with explicit objectives and scope. Experience providing indirect work direction to individuals on strategic projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65- $40.
