JOB SUMMARY
Analyze and coordinate the logistical functions of a firm or organization. Responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products. Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity. Well-versed of logistics technology advances, and apply appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes. Plan, organize, and execute logistics support activities such as maintenance planning, repair analysis, and test equipment recommendations. Develop an understanding of customers' needs, and take actions to ensure that such needs are met. Participate in the assessment and review of design alternatives and design change proposal impacts. Explain proposed solutions to customers, management, or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations. Manage the logistical aspects of product life cycles, including coordination or provisioning of samples, and the minimization of obsolescence. Report project plans, progress, and results. Develop and implement technical project management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility and compliance matrices. Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources. Develop proposals that include documentation for estimates. Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks and service agreements. Adhere to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies. Understand and follow all required GPS standards. Any task deemed necessary by Management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A
Bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus in project management, logistics or transportation and a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in large, multi-year logistics projects. Must possess excellent customer service skills, attention to project detail and the development of alternative plans to ensure satisfactory deliver of supplies, material, and equipment in accordance with contract terms. Knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, Access, and Project (or similar products) is required.
