Share Facebook X LinkedIn Email Apply Now US•Wixom, MI SUMMARY The Logistics Analyst is responsible for timely execution of operational responsibilities to support logistics. Functions include scheduling, expediting and completing carrier claims for Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), truckload, and intermodal shipment shipments. The Logistics Analyst will analyze transportation methods, resolve transportation issues surrounding timely deliveries, and recommend transportation solutions. This position will also maintain current, potential, and past vendor records and cost data.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following: Arrange for carrier services by specific routing requirements utilizing a transportation management system. Provide analysis of current and proposed transportation and operations practices to determine process and cost improvement opportunities Provide freight analysis and decision support systems for LTL, truckload, and other transportation systems Review, root cause and correct transportation system errors Develop relationships with corporate partners and field operations to understand needs, develop solutions and support execution of those solutions. Resolve service issues and help implement processes for continual improvement Assist with filing of carrier claims. Compile and maintain current, potential, and past vendor records. Other duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and transportation industry experience. Prefer a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in dispatching, freight management/brokerage, warehousing, or process development. Strong written and oral communication skills required Intermediate experience with Excel required Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required Consistently demonstrates proven ability to learn and use necessary tools Ability to follow process and standard procedures required ERP and transportation management system knowledge and usage highly desirable; JDE a plus Strong skills in routing software or Transportation Management System; Oracle a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the root cause and articulate associated action plans Have strong decision making and presentation skills Be results driven self-motivator and proven ability to continuously improve processes and annual metricsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
