Job Description

Location:
Mankato (4 days onsite, Friday remote)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, flexible hours (approx. 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Compensation:
$80,000-$95,000 + 5% Bonus We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Cost Analyst to support cost tracking, inventory accuracy, and financial analysis within a dynamic production environment. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with operations, engineering, and plant leadership to understand how products are manufactured and to analyze the difference between expected and actual costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze production cost variances (materials, labor, overhead) and investigate differences between expected and actual costs Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy, including support for cycle counts and inventory reporting Partner with production, engineering, and plant leadership to understand manufacturing activity and improve cost efficiency Support month-end close, including cost analysis, journal entries, and reconciliations Review and maintain bill of materials (BOMs) and assist with standard cost updates Identify and implement process improvements related to costing and inventory
Requirements:
3+ years of accounting, finance, or cost analysis experience Experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of inventory, product costing, and variance analysis Experience working with an ERP system Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis) Strong analytical skills and ability to work cross-functionally #SMNCareers If you have any questions or interest about the Manufacturing Cost Analyst job, call/text 952-818-3275 or apply now!
