Inventory Analyst - Contractor Supplies Puckett Machinery Company - 3.8 Richland, MS Job Details Full-time 4 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Description The Inventory Analyst is responsible for overseeing and executing the lifecycle of activities associated with the procurement of contractor supplies offered for sale at the company's branch stores to ensure that appropriate inventory stocking levels are consistently maintained.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Reconcile all order acknowledgements from vendors to ensure pricing and quantities are correct on the PO. Compare product descriptions to make sure products are correct on both the order and PO in Rentalman. Set up and maintain inventory data items. This to include Setting up new part #'s, Cleaning up old part #'s by deletion or conversion to new part #. Maintain correct pricing and agreed upon margins within the system by keeping parts locked down and updated daily. Analyze and ensure product pricing is set to optimize competitiveness and profitability in local market. Work weekly PO report to ensure inventory is being received in a timely and accurately while also maintaining all back ordered inventory logs. Clean up old PO's that are no longer active. Negotiate all freight and shipping terms. Handle all freight claims. Communication between warehouses & freight companies. Dealing with all damaged goods, lost/missing products, returned freight. Work weekly internal transfer report for stock items transferred between stores to maintain accurate inventory numbers. Initiate inventory cycle counts and reconciles physical counts within the Rentalman system. Participate in maintaining perpetual inventory balance. Maintain and administer all vendor-related product literature, price lists, and catalogs. Distribute same to branch locations. Code all resale invoices for payment processing. Check for pricing, qty, freight, sale tax accuracy. Compare invoices to PO receivers in Rentalman for accuracy. Work vendor statements as needed to ensure invoices are in avid bill timely to prevent vendor holds Coordinate with manager on invoicing of non-stock and special customer orders to ensure proper billing and coding. Expect to help with maintaining future barcode system once rolled out. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required, plus 2 years of dedicated experience in customer service, and/or inventory control required. Associate or higher-level degree from accredited institution in a sales, business administration, or marketing discipline preferred. Refined customer relations, written, verbal, analytical, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills. Self-motivated, goal oriented, and dependable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and related management system applications (Rental Man). Good problem-solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work with a high level of accuracy. Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced retail service environment.
