6/1/2021 SUMMARY The Material Quoter prepares accurate quotes for pricing and builds estimates by gathering information and job costing for a variety of cabling and electronics products. This is a hands on role responsible for facilitating a variety of quoting activities that are important to EMCom Inc.'s ability to minimize pricing while still meeting the customer's needs. The ideal candidate will use their exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to work closely with the Program Management team to ensure the successful costing of products and maintenance of high service levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate the ability to make inventory inquiries via ERP system. Create and maintain quote folders in the Quote Log (QL) system. Analyze multi-level BOMs and customer documentation for discrepancies. Demonstrate the correct method of quoting material from existing and new customer BOM. Demonstrate the correct method to submit material for ITAR approval. Review vendor responses and build customer quotes via Quoting software Identify and resolve raw material obsolescence with customer support. Preparation and data entry of supplier quotes within the final cost sheet. Complete all necessary Health and Safety trainings. Perform other duties as needed to accomplish company mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Excel worksheet basics and the use of the import/export function. Interpret Gerber files for essential fabrication details Understand drawings/blueprint basics. Understand tolerance evaluation and measurement conversions. Effective verbal and written communicator. Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving and follow up. Ability to work under deadline pressure. Ability to deal with frequent changes and unexpected delays while maintaining a professional manner. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High school diploma or GED required. 2-3 years' experience working in quoting, customer service, or related field in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience with Quoting software will be beneficial but not required. ERP systems experience preferred, will train the right candidate.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, reports, and documents. Ability to communicate effectively across multiple site functions and team members. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
