Job Description
Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst HVACDirect.com is an industry-leading nationwide eCommerce business headquartered in Troy, Ohio. We're a fast-growing, web-focused business looking for a results-oriented individual to support our eCommerce web sites as a strategic data analyst focusing on our Inventory, Supplier, and Purchasing processes. The Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst will be a part of our Purchasing Team and will play a significant role in the overall profitability and operating efficiency of the organization by harnessing data to provide business recommendations and improve process efficiency and accuracy. Through reports, analysis, and data feed integration, the Analyst will contribute to the business's profitable growth by helping to reduce excess inventory, improve turn rates, increase fulfillment efficiency, and reduce costs related to transfers, cancellations, and bulk purchases. Their work will also contribute to improving on-site conversion rate by utilizing up-to-date vendor inventory data. The Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst will work to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our purchasing procedures based on data analysis and collaboration with stakeholders. They will also scope and implement reporting and monitoring systems to track Purchasing KPIs across all of our functions and network of suppliers. The Analyst will also scope and implement data integrations from our third-party vendors into our ERP and web site management systems. They will monitor the data and report on trends and changes, as well as conducting deep data analysis to expose opportunities and weaknesses within the business. The Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst will have an enthusiasm for discovering opportunities in data and process, possess a keen attention to detail, and have experience in a fast-paced eCommerce environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database architecture, data feed integration, web site back-end administration, ERP systems, and purchasing and supply chain procedures. Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Vendor Supply Chain Management Integrate and maintain vendor stock levels into ERP and web management systems Ensure data accuracy and availability for forecasting and e-commerce support Create and maintain data-centered ranking system to identify preferred vendors Purchasing & Vendor Review and Support Establish and analyze KPIs for suppliers and overall purchasing process Analyze vendor spend data to identify opportunities for more strategic purchasing decisions. (Ie buying same product from multiple vendors) Highlight areas for cost savings, consolidation, or renegotiation. Create and execute RFPs using data-driven insights Provide ad hoc and strategic data support to purchasing & inventory teams Translate complex data into actionable insights for decision-making SKU Reconciliation, Consolidation, and Inventory Data Maintenance Consolidate commodity part #s across different vendors Reconcile parts #s for new versions of equipment components Auditing and updating inventory status and reorder rules and standards within ERP and web management systems (ie policing items eligible or not eligible for back order, reorder, drop-ship, and stocking) Data Analysis of Stock Position vs. Sales Velocity and Marketing Traffic Analyze the correlation between inventory, sales velocity, and marketing visibility Identify and predict sales trajectory of slow-moving items as well as items over-selling vs projections; compare to site traffic, price competitiveness, and marketing traction; conduct root cause analysis Reporting and analysis of slow-moving inventory and related marketing activities For inquiries and applications: Scott Atkinson, Director of Marketing Scott@hvacdirect.com 937-998-3865
