Job Description

An Inventory Analyst optimizes a company's stock by analyzing sales data and managing inventory levels to meet customer needs while minimizing costs, preventing stockouts/overstock, and improving supply chain efficiency using software and collaboration with merchandising, sales, and logistics teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contributes to the achievement of category financial objectives, specifically service level, turnover, and unproductive inventory mitigation. Monitors individual distribution center SKU productivity within the assigned product category and initiates action to enhance inventory performance. Collaborates with merchandising counterparts to ensure accurate execution of new items and promotions. May be assigned significant responsibilities for the replenishment of inventory. This includes analyzing sales data, lead times, and current stock levels to generate and review purchase orders and transfers, ensuring optimal inventory positions to meet customer demand.. Directly responsible for expediting vendor freight as necessary to prevent stock-outs, mitigate delays, and support critical business timelines, such as promotional periods or new store openings. This involves close communication with vendors, freight forwarders, and internal logistics teams, by tracking shipments and escalating issues to management as required to ensure the timely arrival of goods at distribution centers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis applications. Experience with inventory replenishment and data reporting systems. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities. Ability to establish priorities, function autonomously with minimal supervision, and adhere to deadlines. Possession of strong analytical abilities necessary to interpret data and devise solutions for operational inefficiencies. Capability to effectively manage and respond to a variety of dynamic, high-pressure situations. Aptitude for organizing materials, managing time efficiently, and prioritizing tasks strategically.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
