Job Description

Overview:
We are currently hiring for a Material or Supply Chain Analyst to join our Supply Chain and Procurement team to support day-to-day operations focused on, but not limited to, the following: Create and maintain supplier relations. Coordinate purchasing transactions. Material cost-reduction efforts.
Description:
Support, maintain, and improve purchased commodities and services strategy in accordance with annual and long-term goals and objectives. Support business financial performance. Evaluate and/or develop policies and procedures for the continuous improvement of procurement activities. Manage supplier relationships to ensure OTD and Quality performance meet expectations.
Qualifications:
US Citizenship. BS Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent. 2+ years of relevant experience. Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, and logistics. Planning, negotiation, and execution skills essential, as are project management and strategic sourcing experience/skills. Demonstrated success in driving cost reductions and superior customer service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop effective working relationships. Ability to develop and execute strategic plans. Self-starter, highly motivated, action-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and results-driven.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Experience in Defense industry procurement is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge and experience with Government contracting practices, including hands-on experience with FAR/DFARS, contract negotiations, and related laws and regulations. Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience and knowledge is preferred.
Additional Information:
3-4 month contract.
Pay Rate:
$30-$33/hr. 1st shift, Monday-Friday. Client is eager to hire. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
