Role:

The Experienced Miner plays a critical role in the extraction of valuable minerals and resources from underground or surface mining sites across the United States. This position requires a deep understanding of mining operations, safety protocols, and equipment handling to ensure efficient and safe extraction processes. The miner will contribute to maximizing resource recovery while minimizing environmental impact and adhering to regulatory standards. Collaboration with engineering, safety, and environmental teams is essential to optimize mining plans and address operational challenges. Ultimately, the role ensures that mining activities are conducted responsibly, productively, and sustainably to support the companys production goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground or surface mining operations.

Valid certification or license to operate mining machinery as required by state or federal regulations.

Strong knowledge of mining safety standards and procedures.

Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adhere to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or technical certification in mining technology or related field.

Experience with computerized mining equipment and software.

First aid and CPR certification.

Familiarity with environmental regulations related to mining activities.

Demonstrated leadership skills or experience in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain mining equipment such as drills, loaders, and haul trucks to extract minerals safely and efficiently.

Working on a remote island and living in a mining camp environment away from home if you are not Juneau based. This role will be operate on a 20 days on/10 days off schedule. Conduct regular inspections of mining sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Assist in the planning and execution of mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and material transport.

Monitor and report on mining progress, equipment performance, and any operational issues to supervisors.

Collaborate with safety officers to implement and follow strict safety protocols to protect personnel and the environment.

Participate in training sessions and safety drills to stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate records of mining activities, equipment maintenance, and incident reports.

Skills:

The required skills enable the miner to operate complex machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring continuous production while minimizing risks. Knowledge of safety standards is applied daily to identify hazards and implement preventive measures, protecting both personnel and the environment.
