You'll also build your own future, with exciting opportunities for development and advancement. Your Opportunity We are currently seeking an Underground Mining Manager to join our Mining Team. This role provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership for underground mining projects and teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary technical staff, overseeing project execution, supporting business development, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of underground mining services. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, develop high-performing teams, and contribute to the long-term growth of the organization. Your Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and strategic direction for underground mining engineering and operational activities. Develop and promote a strong safety culture across all projects and teams. Oversee planning, design, scheduling, and optimization of underground mining systems. Manage multidisciplinary teams including mining, geology, ventilation, and geotechnical staff. Ensure deliverables meet or exceed technical, quality, schedule, and budget requirements. Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants. Review and approve project scopes, budgets, execution plans, and design approaches. Support business development through client engagement, proposal development, and conference participation. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships. Develop training programs, succession plans, and career development pathways for staff. Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and research initiatives. Conduct performance management, mentoring, and annual reviews of direct reports. Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering, and cost estimating. Contribute to development of technical standards, procedures, and best practices. Assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members. Represent the organization at industry events and professional forums. Your Capabilities and Credentials Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, standards, and best practices. Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical and operational teams. Proven ability to lead projects through all phases from concept to execution. Strong consulting and client management skills. Advanced problem-solving and engineering judgment. Ability to balance technical, operational, and business priorities. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports and proposals. Proven mentoring and coaching capabilities. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. Proficiency with standard industry and office software, including Microsoft Office and relevant mining applications (e.g., Deswik, VentSim, Vulcan). Blended mix of industry and operations experience. Industry and operations relationships. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 20 years of relevant underground mining experience. Minimum of 5 years in a management or senior leadership role. Professional Engineer (PE) and/or SME Registered Member designation preferred. Industry and consulting experience Strong operational and consulting background considered an asset.
