We're reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making. The Role We're looking for a Mining Investment Manager to identify and evaluate mineral investment opportunities that align with our mission-critical focus areas. These investment opportunities will primarily take the form of projects wherein Mariana will serve as a value-added technical and operational experience, rather than passive investments. You'll leverage technical mining knowledge to assess projects across the development spectrum—from early-stage exploration to producing assets. This role is fundamentally about technical evaluation and geological judgment. You'll work directly with our leadership team to build conviction around investment opportunities, conduct rigorous technical due diligence, and help shape our portfolio strategy. What You'll Do Source and screen opportunities across critical mineral projects globally Conduct technical evaluations of geological data, resource estimates, mining methods, and development plans Assess project viability, including geological risk, exploration upside, mining methods, metallurgy, and development timelines Lead technical due diligence on potential investments, including site visits, data room review, and management assessments Prepare investment memos that synthesize technical, operational, and strategic considerations for decision-making Track market dynamics including commodity fundamentals, supply-demand trends, and competitive positioning Maintain deal flow systems to organize and monitor projects, companies, and market developments Support project economics analysis in collaboration with the team
Desired Qualifications Required:
Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or related technical discipline 5+ years of experience in mining operations, exploration, consulting, or project evaluation Ability to interpret geological reports, resource models, and technical studies Excellent written and verbal communication—able to distill complex technical information for diverse audiences
Preferred:
Experience evaluating mineral deposits or conducting technical due diligence Exposure to exploration geology or mine operations Understanding of permitting, ESG considerations, and jurisdictional risk Basic financial modeling or project economics experience Why Join Us? At Mariana Minerals, you'll be part of a mission-driven team reshaping the way critical minerals are sourced and supplied globally. You'll have the autonomy to make big decisions, the tools to innovate, and a culture that values ownership, smart automation, and collaboration. Our culture is built on three principles: Extreme Ownership
  • We take full responsibility for outcomes, relentlessly driving toward solutions. Engineer Out Requirements, then Automate
  • We simplify, optimize, and then automate for scale. Share Your Legos
